Aggressive Advocacy in Family Law, Personal Injury and Real Estate Matters

At the law offices of Cheryl L. White & Associates in Oakland, we have extensive courtroom experience as well as well-learned bargaining and deal-closing skills. The combination of these means you can’t go wrong, whether your case goes to trial or whether you settle your case, Cheryl will get the job done for you. Cheryl has personally handled hundreds of civil trials, settlement conferences, mediations and arbitrations, and four-way attorney-client conferences. She has honed her advocacy skills in the courtroom, establishing a reputation among lawyers and judges alike as a top-notch attorney. She has leaned hard on the opposing side to settle hard-fought cases and save everyone the huge costs associated with trials. Whether you need an aggressive advocate or a skilled settlement negotiator, Cheryl will honestly and compassionately work with you to develop the best strategy for your case and then make sure that your strategy is successful.

Plaintiffs' Personal Injury
Cheryl has for years aggressively advocated on behalf of injured workers, including those who have been injured as a result of the careless or negligent behavior of others, as well as the families of those were killed. We listen carefully and advocate tirelessly on behalf of injured persons, compassionately providing excellent legal work to obtain full and fair compensation for all injuries, including lost wages and income, medical expenses, and pain and suffering. Free consultations for personal injury victims.

Family Law
WWe represent clients at all stages of a divorce, from the initial filing to applications for restraining orders, temporary support, trial and judgment, and post-judgment requests for modifications or enforcement. Our clients are in traditional marriages or same-sex marriages and domestic partnerships. We also work hard for clients involved in paternity actions, adoptions, prenuptial disputes, or domestic violence hearings (TROs and Protective Orders). Cheryl can be a mediator for those couples able to work cooperatively toward a negotiated settlement outside of the courthouse. To learn more about the scope of this practice, see the Family Law section. Consultations are $100.

Custody, Visitation and Support
When it is not possible for you and your partner to resolve custody, visitation, child support and/or spousal support issues through negotiation or mediation, you need a powerful advocate on your side. Cheryl can present your case for you in a clear and persuasive manner so your rights are protected and the best interests of your children are maintained. For more information, see our Custody, Visitation and Support page. Consultations are $100.

Trial Work
The thing about a trial attorney is that she is always ready to go out and work on the next court battle for persons who have been wronged. When you have a proven track record of success both in the courtroom and at the settlement table, the calls keep coming. That is why Cheryl has represented persons in real estate disputes, business disputes, condominium disputes, contract disputes, and even mortgage foreclosures. If you have a legal problem, call Cheryl and put her to work on it.

Flexible Meeting Hours
Although the office is technically open Mondays-Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Cheryl will arrange an evening or weekend appointment for you upon request, or travel to see you if you are unable to come to the office.
