Working for you in Family Law and Personal Injury

Cheryl is a seasoned trial attorney with a proven track record who has won millions in verdicts and settlements on behalf of plaintiffs, and fair and just family law decisions, through the years. For more than a decade she championed the cause of injured and dying workers who were poisoned by asbestos on the job, and their families who lost their loved ones to this preventable scourge. To this day she communicates and works with other trial lawyers all over the country, which means she can provide her clients with the best possible representation utilizing the most up-to-date cases and strategies. She has taken on, and successfully tried or resolved, difficult family law cases that some considered too small or difficult to take on. She has also brought to the settlement table various business interests in real estate, contracts, and other areas of the law.

After cutting her teeth at a prominent Bay Area plaintiffs’ firm, in 2001 Cheryl established her solo practice in the East Bay, first in Alameda, and now in Oakland. She has continued her quality representation of family law litigants, injured persons, injured workers, and people involved in disputes of all types. Whether the case is big or small, Cheryl compassionately works with each client individually, listening carefully to each client’s concerns, stresses and fears. She works within the law to provide each client with a fair and just settlement, or a vigorous and dynamic trial after thorough preparation.

Cheryl continues to volunteer her time, as she has done since she was in law school. From 1995-96, she was a pro tem family law judge and family law settlement officer in Solano County. She has presented programs for other practitioners on the basics of running a law practice and how to organize a family law case for the Alameda County Bar Association. She has designed trial advocacy programs for civil and family law attorneys. She continues to serve as a pro bono advocate for indigent and low-income family law litigants and victims of domestic violence, and assists low income persons at legal advice clinics in San Francisco and Alameda Counties. A dedicated teacher, Cheryl still volunteers to judge law school moot court and advocate of the year competitions at her alma mater, University of San Francisco, and works with the high school Mock Trial programs in Alameda County. She has taught at the advocacy programs sponsored by University of San Francisco and Stanford Law School.

When she is not in the courtroom, Cheryl enjoys being mon and grandmom. She sings regularly with a couple of organizations. She never tires of rooting for her beloved Cal Bears—who may yet get to the Rose Bowl in her lifetime. Among her professional affiliations are the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association and Alameda County Family Lawyers’ Association.
